There’s a number of safety features that federal guidelines and regulations require to come standard in every vehicle. The Honda Sensing® Suite goes above and beyond to provide drivers with the latest safety technologies in the industry. A vast number of intelligent driver-assisting technologies help make everyday driving a safer, more enjoyable activity. Here are a handful of the safety technologies available in the Honda Sensing® Suite.
Lane Departure Warning is a technology designed to help drivers fight fatigue out on the road. The system detect the lane markers and issues both audible and visual alerts when the vehicle begins to leave that lane.
The Lane Keeping Assist System follows the next logical step and guides the vehicle back into the designated lane. The system activates whenever the vehicle begins to leave its lane without an active turn signal.
The Road Departure Mitigation System is designed to detect when the vehicle is drifting too close to the side of the road. If there isn’t a turn signal activated, the system warns the driver, then corrects the steering or uses the braking system to keep the vehicle on the road.
Adaptive Cruise Control takes the standard Cruise Control system to the next level. The system can maintain a set distance between vehicles so drivers don’t manually have to speed up and slow down with traffic. Some vehicles come equipped with Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow, a technology that is designed for light traffic conditions.
The Collision Mitigation Braking System™ detects collisions and hits the brakes in an effort to reduce the severity of the collision or avoid it altogether.
Forward Collision Warning comes integrated with the Collision Mitigation Braking System™. The former system warns drivers both visually and audibly when a collision is detected. It essentially acts as a precursor warning, allowing drivers to take action before the system does.
